The Campbell County Rockpile Museum in Gillette, Wyoming has an immediate opening for a Museum Educator. The Museum Educator will coordinate programming and educational activities to fulfill the mission of the Campbell County Rockpile Museum. This position will develop, promote, and implement high-quality, high-impact programming designed to attract new audiences, to retain existing audiences, and when appropriate, to support major temporary exhibitions. The Museum Educator will plan and present on-site and outreach programs for children, teens, students, families, adults, seniors, and other groups that will enhance the understanding of the history of the Powder River Basin utilizing the museum’s vast collections and interpretive exhibitions. Museum Educators will also assist visitors with research, schedule and lead tours through the museum, and manage the museum’s gift shop.
One of two Museum Educators, this position will focus mostly on adult programming and museum outreach. Full job description/classification available upon request.
Requirements: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in education, public history, museum studies, or related field. One to two years of museum education experience or related experience; must be available to work some evenings and weekends and have a current Wyoming driver’s license or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
