Summer 2024 Museum Education Internships with the Town of Windsor Museums

As a member of the Parks, Recreation & Culture (PRC) Division, the Town of Windsor Museums’ mission is to build community through creativity and discovery. The Museums consist of the Art & Heritage Center, an exhibit and program space; and the Windsor History Museum, a collection of the historical buildings including the town’s 1882 Train Depot, which houses historical exhibits. The History Museum also features two education gardens including a vegetable plot and a pollinator patch.

Summer 2024 Museum Education Interns will gain meaningful paid experience in museum learning and engagement. Museum Education interns will assist in the planning, preparation, and implementation of museum programs and events. Intern staff will also gain experience in museum operations, including staffing the front desk, maintaining historic buildings, and delivering interpretive tours.

Additionally, interns will attend a Certified Interpretive Guide training and receive a lifelong certification through the National Association for Interpretation. Interns receive training in history, art, and nature education. The internship can also count toward school credit. The museum runs programs from nature education camps to art workshops, so interns will explore many aspects of museum education.
