Together as a field we've defeated several threats to eliminate federal agencies supporting museums, but we must keep making our case. Beyond federal funding, museums are also significantly impacted by tax reform, education policy, infrastructure legislation, and more. But legislators do not know how museums are impacted if they don't directly hear from you--the museums and people they represent. Help us make sure the mountain-plains states are represented in 2023. Museums Advocacy Day is a unique opportunity to network with peers from your region, hear from federal agency and nonprofit leaders and build your own professional skills. The program includes two full days of issue briefings and advocacy training, networking with peers from your state and region, and visits to your legislators’ offices on Capitol Hill, scheduled by AAM. Gain advocacy strategies and techniques you can use on Capitol Hill, with your city council and state legislators, with local and regional funders, and to advocate for yourself throughout your career. Will you be there to share your story with your legislators? Museums Advocacy Day is inspiring, energizing and practical. Unite with others from the museum field as one voice to reaffirm our value, collective contributions, and aspirations.
