Seeking a passionate, friendly, qualified individual to fill the position of Museum Curator. Institutional Mission: collects, preserves, interprets, and disseminates knowledge about the orphan trains, and the children and agents who rode them.
Private non-profit requires self-starter for well-established museum hosting 6000+ visitors annually. Bachelors required in related field such as history and/or anthropology, museum studies certificate helpful. Ideal candidate will have training and experience in researching, curating exhibits, documenting and preserving artifacts, and computer skills including website maintenance and social media. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Familiarity with Past Perfect software helpful. Curator will collaborate with researcher and team of volunteers. Supervised by board of directors. Annual salary in 32 to 34K range with generous benefit package including health care agreement stipend, contribution to 403B retirement account, vacation, and sick leave.
