Position Summary:
|
Serves as a supporting staff member at the Campbell County Rockpile Museum. Under the supervision of the Museum Director, the Museum Assistant’s initial primary focus will be in exhibitions and collections. As directed, does any or all the routine and special duties connected with the physical maintenance of the museum exhibits, collections, and program areas. This may include routine day-to-day handling of incoming and outgoing material, cleaning, repairing, marking, moving, and storing of artifacts, lifting and transporting materials 50 lbs. or more, and includes the use of carts, pallet jacks, and other moving equipment. Will locate stored material and create and maintain relevant records. Significant opportunities in exhibition research, fabrication, and installation. Aids throughout the museum including responding to public requests, front desk duties, special events, and programs. Some evenings and weekend are required.

Qualifications
Required:
|
Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Education/Training: Two years of college and
Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field
Or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Knowledge of and proficiency with Past Perfect Museum Software collections database preferred.
