The Meeteetse Museums summer 2022 intern will support the outreach and education efforts of the Meeteetse Museums’ summer programming “Perspectives of the Past.” The intern will gain experience in audio and video production, transcribing oral histories, research on local ranches, publication design, and social media preparation and posting for a history institution. The position is for 300 hours to be completed from June - August. The Museums will also provide compensation for mileage to and from the Museums.
Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:
• Working with Museum staff to record oral histories both on-site and during the historic ranches of Meeteetse tours
• Assisting staff in event preparation and on-site activities
• Transcribing oral history interviews for Museum archives
• Answering visitor inquiries both in person and via phone and email
• Completing research on historic ranches of Meeteetse
• Assisting staff in preparing content and posting to social media and the Museums’ blog

Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled or recently completed coursework in history, archives, public history, or related field at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Pay: $12.50 for 300 hours + $1,000 stipend for gas and/or housing
Funding for this position is through a grant from the Wyoming Humanities.
