Scholarships

Background

The Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Mountain-Plains Museums Association (MPMA), state associations, industry partners, private donors, and annual auction proceeds, provides financial assistance to those studying and/or working in the MPMA’s 10-state region, so that they may attend the annual conference. The scholarship committee seeks candidates who will benefit from attendance at the 2024 conference but may not have the necessary financial means to attend.

ELIGIBILITY AND CATEGORIES:

* Emerging Professional: An individual with less than 5years in the museum profession
* Mid-career Professional: An individual who has worked 5-20 years in the museum profession
* Student: A graduate student (or an undergraduate of exceptional quality and initiative) currently enrolled in an Art, Art History, Anthropology, Museum Studies, History, or equivalent program.

Scholarships include a $400 cash award, basic conference registration, and a complimentary one-year basic or student MPMA membership. 

The following scholarships are available

  • 5 MPMA General Scholarships
  • 1 Art Wolf Memorial Student Scholarship
  • 3 Dakin Scholarships (additional requirements apply; see guidelines for eligibility)
  • TBD RC-MPMA/ANR Transport Scholarship (additional requirements apply; see guidelines for eligibility)
  • TBD RC-MPMA/UOVO Scholarship (additional requirements apply; see guidelines for eligibility)

Individuals who have received a scholarship in the past are not eligible to apply for a scholarship in the previously awarded category
