As a key member of the Museum & Culture Division, the Museum Education Coordinator plays an essential role in fostering public engagement with art, culture, history, and nature through innovative and captivating programs. Working primarily independently, the Coordinator designs, develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs for diverse audiences, including youth, families, and seniors, while collaborating with the Culture Supervisor to align with the Division's mission and vision. The Coordinator will lead part-time employees, interns, and volunteers, ensuring the successful execution of various projects and initiatives. Key responsibilities include developing and coordinating cultural programs, conducting outreach to local schools, building partnerships with community organizations, overseeing marketing efforts, managing event logistics, and performing administrative tasks such as budget recommendations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a passion for education and community engagement.
As a member of the Parks, Recreation & Culture Division, individuals in this position perform work in a team-based environment supporting the Department/Division’s mission and vision along with the goals, philosophies, and initiatives of the Culture Supervisor. The Museum Education Coordinator makes art, culture, history, and nature accessible to the public through innovative and engaging programs. The Museum Education Coordinator works primarily independently to design, develop, implement, and evaluate educational school and public programs for a variety of audiences.
Salary: $56,097.60 - $78,540.80 Annually
